The client
Pegaso Formazione is an Italian education provider that runs courses for professionals. People signed up for courses on its website, and those sign-ups then had to reach another system. Retyping every participant by hand was slow and error-prone, so the site had to hand the data over by itself.
What I built
On the provider’s Joomla site I set up online registration and a small bridge that exports it.
- Online registration form: built with ChronoForms, it collects the participant’s personal and professional details, including profession, discipline and professional register number, and the chosen course.
- XML export: a PHP script reads the registrations and writes an XML file with one record per participant, in a fixed structure another program can import without retyping.
- Only the new sign-ups: the export starts from a given registration number, so each run picks up where the last one stopped.
- Ready for courses: the script already holds the structure, not yet switched on, to group registrations under each course.
Built with
Joomla, ChronoForms, PHP and MySQL, XML.
