The client
Avantifiori is the brand of an Italian consultant who helps companies through transformation and relaunch. Her work also covers commercial development for electric-vehicle charge point operators, and a personal commitment to diabetes awareness. She needed a quiet, elegant site for her CV, her manifesto and her press coverage, one she can update without calling a developer.
What I built
I wrote a custom WordPress theme from scratch, in plain PHP, with no page builder.
- Texts edited from the Customizer: the home image, the hero, the three service blocks, the quote, the footer tagline and the contact email all live in Appearance > Customize, each with a sensible default.
- Two menus with two weights: large items on the left (Home, Manifesto, Press), small ones on the right (CV, Areas of Expertise), plus a footer menu. On mobile one button opens both.
- A precise palette: night blue and gold on ivory, defined as colour variables. When the client asked for every white area to become the same ivory as the background, it was a small, clean change, not a redesign.
- Changes visible at once: the host keeps a cache in front of the site. The theme tells that cache not to store pages for anonymous visitors, so an edit shows up immediately. The pages are light enough not to need it.
- A build number in the footer: it goes up with every release, so the client and I always know which version is online.
Built with
WordPress, a custom PHP theme, CSS custom properties, a small vanilla JavaScript file for the mobile menu and smooth scrolling, Google Fonts (Encode Sans Expanded, Raleway, Poppins). Ongoing changes go through my PDC Assistant service.
