The client
Biortaggi Valdelsa is a family-run organic farm in the Tuscan countryside near Poggibonsi. It farms just over two hectares, 2,500 m² of them under greenhouse, and has been certified organic since 2012. It grows mainly local varieties, saves its own seeds, and sells vegetables, fruit and pulses, also to solidarity purchasing groups (GAS).
What I built
I built the farm’s WordPress site with a small WooCommerce shop.
- Story and method — pages on the farm, its organic methods and natural pest control.
- Purchasing groups — a dedicated section for GAS groups that buy from the farm.
- Online produce shop — a WooCommerce catalogue with products such as cavolo nero, purple potatoes, tomatoes and carrots.
- Forms and sliders — a form builder for enquiries and sliders for the home page banners.
- Close work on the design — seven rounds of edits with the client between June and July 2014.
