The client
Donatori Nati is the blood donors’ association of the Italian State Police, with regional branches across the country. Its old Joomla site was out of date, and the association needed a new one that its own team could run day to day.
What I built
I rebuilt the site on WordPress as a block theme the client edits directly; it has been online since 28 July 2026.
- Regional pages — each region’s page opens with its own header, with room for contacts, opening hours, map and local news. 10 regions are set up, and each can have its own header image.
- Dedicated pages — who we are, board, regional branches, projects, support us, transparency and contacts, each with its own template.
- Content stays with the client — the association writes news and pages itself, and my work stays in the theme files, so nothing they publish gets overwritten.
- Security hardening — WordPress version hidden, XML-RPC turned off, user lists closed to visitors, and a security.txt contact file served by the site.
- Fresh styles after every release — caching is left to the hosting, and the theme version changes on each release so browsers load the new design.
Built with
WordPress, a child theme of Twenty Twenty-Five (block theme), a small maintenance plugin, and scripted SFTP deploys on Hetzner.
