The client
Cristina Zagaria is a journalist at La Repubblica and the author of novels and non-fiction books, based in Naples. She wanted one place where anyone looking for her finds everything: her books, her press coverage and the calendar of her book presentations. She also wanted it to feel like a magazine, organised around the themes she writes about, not like a plain author page.
What I built
I built her personal site on WordPress with a magazine layout, shaped around her own brief.
- Four thematic sections: Regine sempre, Piccole storie, L’Italia dei veleni and Segui il cuore, each with its own short introduction, so readers can follow the stories they care about.
- Books and press: her books with covers, and a press review, as she asked.
- Presentation calendar: an events calendar for book presentations, kept up to date from the dashboard.
- Photo galleries: images open in a lightbox, and related posts keep readers moving through the site.
- Contact form: a simple way for readers, editors and organisers to reach her.
Built with
WordPress in Italian, the ReadMagazine theme, Spider Event Calendar, jQuery Lightbox for native galleries, Yet Another Related Posts Plugin, a contact form plugin.
