The client
Studio Abba organises contemporary art exhibitions in Italy and abroad, in cities such as Paris, Barcelona, Monaco, London and Miami, and in Tuscany in Florence, Lucca, Volterra and the Chianti area. It also offers press office, public relations and art for hire. Its old site was hand-coded PHP pages, separate in Italian and English, hard to update.
What I built
I moved the studio to WordPress with a visual page builder, then kept it maintained.
- Parallax one-page layout on the Themify Parallax theme, with full-screen backgrounds, sliders and slideshows for exhibition images.
- Map of venues with Builder Maps Pro, so visitors see where the shows take place.
- Contact form built with Builder Contact for exhibition and artist enquiries.
- Mobile pages through AMP and Jetpack.
- Later upgrades: Yoast SEO, HTTPS with Really Simple SSL, scheduled backups with UpdraftPlus, a PHP compatibility check before server updates, and a 3D flipbook viewer for publications.
