Artificial Intelligence

AmicoAI

A WhatsApp assistant that remembers appointments, lists and notes for you: no app, no account, just a chat.

The problem

Everybody has tried a reminders app and stopped using it. Not because the apps are bad, but because remembering to open the app to write down the thing you must not forget is one step too many. Meanwhile the same people send hundreds of WhatsApp messages a day without thinking about it.

What I built

A personal assistant that lives inside WhatsApp: nothing to download, no account to create, no password. You write to it the way you write to a friend — “remind me about the dentist on Friday”, “add milk to the shopping” — and it understands, even when you are typing in a hurry.

  • Reminders that arrive as a message at the right time, with the reply “done” closing them.
  • Shared lists for shopping, packing, things to buy, which can be pushed to a partner’s chat.
  • A document archive, timers and notes, all encrypted on the server so only the owner can read them.
  • A free trial with no card required, and paid plans after it.

Built with

Large language models for understanding what the user actually meant, the WhatsApp Business API for the conversation, scheduled jobs for delivering reminders on time, and encryption at rest for lists, notes and documents. There is a website, but the product is the chat.

Why it was done this way

Building this as an app would have been easier to sell to investors and harder to get people to use. Going through WhatsApp means the product has no onboarding, no install and no empty-state screen: you tap a button, say your name, and you are using it. The cost of that choice is that everything has to work through plain conversation, with no buttons to fall back on.
